We document why phones from the 1990s and 2000s looked, sounded and behaved the way they did. The archive connects industrial design, interface decisions and technical constraints with the experiences of people who used these objects every day.
Editorial approach
Our stories focus on design analysis rather than resale value. We distinguish documented product facts from interpretation, name the models being discussed and correct material errors when they are identified. Community memories are presented as personal accounts, not universal claims.

How articles are made
Editorial articles combine product research, visual analysis and the practical experience of using physical mobile interfaces. When a story relies on a contributor’s memory, the context is identified. Substantive updates are reflected in the modified date.
